Lauren and Will are a super sweet and gentle couple, and planned a beautiful “Heaven on Earth” themed wedding this past Spring. Their colors were soft, shimmery gold and white, and they wanted something classic and elegant for their cake. They choose the always popular “quilting” for their bottom tier, and we used Lauren’s wedding dress beading detail as inspiration for the top and middle tiers.

Sheer gold embossed ribbon, a jeweled gold brooch, and beautiful white orchids finished the cake.

The piping detail was hand painted with a pearl luster to add to that “soft shimmery” look that they wanted. It really brings out the details of the pattern – don’t cha think?

The top and middle tiers were set back into the rear corner of the bottom tier – this allowed a bit more space and focused attention the brooch and floral arrangement there.

Some room details with the cake…

And more room details – it was VERY soft and shimmery in the room (one of the prettiest set ups I’ve seen at The Lakeside Room)! It was literally “luminescent” and really had a “heavenly” feeling to it!

VERY sparkly!!

The wedding dress beading that served as inspiration for the top and middle tiers… the top was inspired by the bodice, while the middle mimicked the waistline of the dress. Obviously not every beaded detail was used on the cake, but its always a nice inspiration point if you don’t know exactly what you want to do for your cake piping. I recommend this A LOT and brides love that they are getting something truly unique and personal to them.

in case you forgot….

It was a joy to work with Lauren and Will (and Lauren’s mom Theresa, who did a ton of the planning and who i communicated with mostly). I wish their family much happiness and joy!
Sweet Wishes, k :)
