Noelle and Alberto came to me just a couple of weeks prior to their wedding… still looking for the perfect cake to go with their “Night at the Movies” reception theme.  They didn’t want just a “regular” cake… didn’t want flowers.. DID want something that represented them in a unique and fun way!  Their wedding planners (the awesome team of Natalie and Lea of Simply Sparkling Events) gave them my name and we were off and running…..

The reception’s theme was movies, movies, movies… the cake needed to play it’s role (sorry!) too!  They wanted something thematic, but still elegant and classy.  Black, White and a touch of 

 :arrow:red were the colors… glamour the overall atmosphere they were going for. 

So…. here is what we came up with ~

The square tiers are iced in buttercream with edible “filmstrip” borders (wafer paper), an edible monogrammed “Hollywood Star”, and for the top…. a faux filmstrip bow with trailing ribbons and plumes of black and white ostrich feathers for the elegant touch of GLAM! 

It was fun to work with Noelle and Alberto to come up with this cake.  The ideas just kept coming to us and the whole thing took on a life of it’s own really.  There must have been some Hollywood Angels guiding us!  I think my favorite part is the bow/ribbon.  I love how the ribbon curls back on itself, kinda like how film would run out of an old-time projector.  But then again, I love those feathers too!

This reception floored me with the creativity and genius ideas!  I had so much fun looking at the rooms and seeing how the theme was carried out in such an elegant way.  The bridal couple and their team of vendors really pulled this one off in a BIG way!!

Susanne Wong of Cards De lux did the stationary… outstanding!!  Soooo creative!

Ok, Nicole ROCKED this table arrangement… pure perfection!  Mirror, rhinestones, silk, feathers, diamonds… couldn’t be more glam ~ couldn’t have been more elegant!

And Susanne’s fantastic “Favorite Movies” inspired table markers… wow!!  Great idea… it really made the theme fun and personal!

I was so thankful to be a part of this team ~ The Dream Team, as we’re calling it!  It’s an honor for me to be involved with such inspiring and talented wedding professionals and the amazing clients we have the privelge of creating for!
