Lindsay and John | july 17, 09

Lindsay and John’s reception was held at Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia, CA and was a romantic color scheme of pinks, ivory and gold.

Their cake, named “Regalia”, was buttercream icing in ivory with pink and gold accents.  Lindsay wanted pink to be a definate color on the cake, but not a solid pink because the color was to be so prominent in the rest of the event decoration.

Here is, “Regalia” for Lindsay

And, let’s not forget the groom John!  Lindsay wanted to be sure that he was equally represented in the reception decor elements.  He is a proud Richmond, CA  firefighter and  his groom’s cake was a 3-D replica of his helmet.  Lindsay sent me some inspiration pictures… and yes, they definately inspired me!  ;)

I’m published!!! wow!!

This past Spring I was invited to submit some of my recent cake designs for consideration in the next issue of Today’s Bride San Francisco.  I sent some, but didn’t have too high of hopes considering the amazing local cake talent and the high numbers of submissions the magazine must get.  But… ya, never know, so I said what the heck… why not?
I went by the local bookstore today and saw the newest edition out… of course, I flipped the pages ~ hopeful.. but not holding my breath.  WHAT?!?!?  is that my “Tie the Knot” cake there on page 229????  It sure is!!!
It’s not much of an article/feature .. just my cake and credit on an add for the magazine’s website “Idea Gallery”..    but, I’ll take it!  It’s a “mini-milestone” in my little cake career!  =)
