4. CAKE PRICING
Current wedding cake pricing for 2010 is a starting (base) price of $5.50/serving. This would be for a tiered cake with smooth meringue buttercream icing and a simple decoration style. There are higher price levels for more elaborate icing and/or more detailed decoration. Basically I have 3 price levels: Level 1 ($5.50/serving), Level 2 ($7.25/serving) and Level 3 ($9.50/serving). Some designs may fall in between categories and are priced based on materials and labor.
A great way to get the cake you love, but stay within budget (always a PRIORITY!) is to go with a smaller display cake and supplement it with a backup sheetcake not seen by the guests. This can definitely help reduce your overall cost per serving, especially if you are having a larger wedding. The display cake and the sheet cake can be either the same or different flavors, but always made with the same high quality ingredients. The sheet cake is iced, but undecorated – so it’s the labor cost that makes the difference in price.
In any case, please email me directly for detailed info on cake sizes, pricing and options for 2010. I am always happy to make suggestions and offer ideas on how to get you exactly the cake you’ve dreamed of!
